Katie was born and raised in New York and moved to Rhode Island six years ago with her husband (a Rhode Island native). She received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education with a Childhood Education extension from Long Island University in 2010. In 2013, she received her M.S.Ed in Childhood Special Education from St. John's University. For the last 8 years, Katie has worked in various educational settings including Pre-school, Pre-K, Elementary, and Middle School Special Education. When she is not teaching, Katie loves to experience all that Rhode Island has to offer with her husband, 5-year-old daughter, and 1-year-old son. You can find them hiking, biking, sailing, and swimming throughout Rhode Island.
