Darcy Moore

Design Teacher

Darcy considers ‘wonder’ to be one of her superpowers and is eager to pass it along to Croft students as the Design and Tinkering teacher. She discovered first-hand the creativity-inducing power of tinkering with her own young children and founded the company Wonder Bitz to pursue this passion by pairing tinkering play kits with story-based STEM challenges. Darcy has a PhD in Neurogenetics from the University of Melbourne in Australia and a Masters in Neuroscience from Oxford University in England. Originally a Midwesterner, she studied Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Michigan. Darcy has designed tinkering programs and STEM curriculum for the Peabody Essex Museum as well as taught numerous STEM and Tinkering classes throughout Boston and California. To relax and unwind, Darcy loves gardening and sitting with a cat on her lap. Her husband is an Australian native and her family loves traveling and wonder seeking together when they can.
