Julie is a native Spanish-speaker, born in the Dominican Republic and coming to Providence, RI at the age of 7. From a young age, she knew that teaching was her calling as she loved working with children. She graduated from The University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology with a concentration in Child Development. While at URI, Julie worked at Dr. Pat Feinstein CDC, as a preschool TA where she helped foster a growth mindset and independent problem solving skills. On Saturday's, Julie looks forward to her work with The College Crusade of Rhode Island where she implements a team-building curriculum for middle grade students. For the past 3 years, Julie has worked at a public charter school in Central Falls, where her passion for education only continued to grow. Julie enjoys working with teachers and students and is happiest in watching her students grow and flourish. When she is not teaching, Julie enjoys reading, going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.
