Katy was born and raised in Boston and her passion for the world of education stemmed from her own schooling experiences as a proud first generation Mexican-American. Growing up and experiencing both public and private education as a child and teenager she began to see that there were a lot of disparities in the quality of education which were fully dependent on where you lived and what resources you had access to. As a result, she hoped to be part of the solution to this big question and issue. This led her to volunteering at HeadStart programs as a teen, interning in her senior year of High School with her own Kindergarten teacher, coaching soccer teams in the summer, and eventually going on to complete her study of Early Childhood Education and Visual Arts at Wheelock College in Fenway where she then graduated from in 2019. Katy is thrilled to become part of Croft and is grateful to get to be part of a school that is working towards the solution for these big questions surrounding education. In her free time, Katy loves spending time with her husband and their four-legged son, playing soccer with her family and friends, and connecting with her local church community!
