Yahaira was born and raised in Boston, MA. At a young age, she knew she wanted to work with children to help make a difference in their lives. After high school, she joined the US Army Reserves where she was able to gain significant life experience and knowledge. Once returning home, she began taking courses at a community college while working as a nurse’s aide. Yahaira quickly obtained her certification as an LPN and began working in an outpatient clinic for underserved populations in Boston. Yahaira knew she wanted to do so much more, but in order to do so, she needed to further her education. While raising a family, she decided to return to school and received her Associates in Nursing at Quincy College, then continued her education and received her BSN at Framingham State University. Although balancing work and school can be challenging, Yahaira enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and listening to music. Her passion for work and love for children have allowed her to be successful in her career, and she will bring this same experience and passion to the Croft School.
